15.1. GENERAL
(a) Company wishes to draw the careful attention of employees that inappropriate use of SNS (Social Networking Services) and Webs can badly damage the reputation of not only specific vulnerable individuals/persons but also the Company itself and may cause direct/indirect damages to the Company.
(b) Therefore, the company has stipulated the captioned guidelines as follows, which all the staff should bear in their minds when using SNS/Webs.
(c) Good understanding and faithful compliance with the Guideline by all the staff will be highly appreciated.
(d) By way of precaution, please note that the Guideline does not intend to prohibit the Employees from public benefit reporting and other actions made for public benefit purposes.
15.2. GUIDELINES FOR USE OF SNS (SOCIAL NETWORKING SERVICE) / WEB
15.2.1. Post with common sense as a responsible member of society
(a) Contents on SNS / Webs are exposed to the eyes of countless people all over the world. Your careless posting may cause significantly serious legal actions by the person who read your posting and may cause tremendously negative damages to the person who posted and the Company.
(b) You should use your common sense as not only a responsible employee of the Company, but also as a responsible member of society, when you are posting.
15.2.2. Specify that your posted contents are your personal opinions
(a) Even posting with your personal account on SNS / Webs, the person who reads your posting may sometimes (especially if it is work related) confuse your personal opinions/responses with those of the Company.
(b) Please specify that your posting contents are not formal opinions and responses by the Company and clarify that your contents do not represent the Company.
15.2.3. Prohibited items of posting
(a) You should never post any illegal contents and/or those items which may prejudice/infringe the rights of any people or any company, including your colleagues, your company, etc. The Company especially prohibits the following items:
- (i) Those which may infringe copyrights, trademarks rights, portrait rights of any people or any companies including your colleagues, your company, etc.
- (ii) Those which may prejudice privacy of any people or any companies including your colleagues, your company, etc.
- (iii) Those which may harm the reputation of any people or any company including your colleagues, your company, etc.
- (iv) Those which may harm trust/honor/dignity of any people or any company including your colleagues, your company, etc.
- (v) Those which may harm reputation/trust/honor/dignity of any people or any company including your colleagues and the Company.
- (vi) Those which may be legally regarded as pornographic expressions.
- (vii) Those which may cause/support hacking/unauthorized electrical access.
- (viii) Those which may be legally regarded as discrimination.
- (ix) Those which are untrue/incorrect/false/fraudulent.
- (x) Any confidential information of the Company and/or personal information which the Company holds as secret, such as but not limited to those regarding customers, suppliers, maritime casualties.
- (xi) Those which may threaten public order and morals, and/or which are against the Company’s compliance policies/rules/regulations/guidelines.
(b) In no case shall Master or any shipboard staff make comments or upload any photos/videos related to the company or its vessels, including vessel location, on any social media websites, at any time, unless with the express knowledge and permission of the company.
(c) Ship’s staff must not access Internet services which contain material that is objectionable in the workplace or breaches the code of conduct.
